A Polynomial Predictor-Corrector Trust-Region Algorithm for Linear Programming

چکیده
In this paper we present a scaling-invariant interior-point predictor-corrector type algorithm for linear programming (LP) whose iteration-complexity is polynomially bounded by the dimension and the logarithm of a certain condition number of the LP constraint matrix. At the predictor stage, the algorithm either takes the step along the standard affine scaling direction or a new trust-region type direction, whose construction depends on a scaling invariant bipartition of the variables determined by the AS direction. This contrasts with the layered least squares direction introduced in [27], whose construction depends on multiple-layered partitions of the variables that are not scaling invariant. Moreover, it is shown that the overall arithmetic complexity of the algorithm (weakly) depends on the right hand side and the cost of the LP in view of the work involved in the computation of the trust region steps.

A Simple Variant of the Mizuno-Todd-Ye Predictor-Corrector Algorithm and Its Objective-Function-Free Complexity
In this paper, we propose a simple variant of the Mizuno-Todd-Ye predictor-corrector algorithm for linear programming problem (LP). Our variants execute a natural finite termination procedure at each iteration and it is easy to implement the algorithm. Our algorithm admits an objective-function free polynomial-time complexity when it is applied to LPs whose dual feasible region is bounded.
متن کاملOn a General Class of Interior-point Algorithms for Semideenite Programming with Polynomial Complexity and Superlinear Convergence
We propose a uniied analysis for a class of infeasible-start predictor-corrector algorithms for semideenite programming problems, using the Monteiro-Zhang uniied direction. The algorithms are direct generalizations of the Mizuno-Todd-Ye predictor-corrector algorithm for linear programming. We show that the algorithms belonging to this class are globally convergent, provided the problem has a so...
متن کاملA Predictor-Corrector Algorithms with Polynomial Convergence for SDLCP Based on the M-Z Family of Directions
We establishes the polynomial convergence of a new class of pathfollowing methods for semidefinite linear complementarity problems, whose search directions belong to the class of directions introduced by Monteiro [9]. Namely, we show that the polynomial iteration-complexity bound of the well known algorithms for linear programming, namely the predictor-corrector algorithm of Mizuno and Ye, carr...
متن کاملA Mehrotra-Type Predictor-Corrector Algorithm for P∗(κ) Linear Complementarity Problems
Mehrotra-type predictor-corrector algorithm, as one of most efficient interior point methods, has become the backbones of most optimization packages. Salahi et al. proposed a cut strategy based algorithm for linear optimization that enjoyed polynomial complexity and maintained its efficiency in practice. We extend their algorithm to P∗(κ) linear complementarity problems. The way of choosing cor...
متن کاملCorrector-predictor arc-search interior-point algorithm for $P_*(kappa)$-LCP acting in a wide neighborhood of the central path
In this paper, we propose an arc-search corrector-predictor interior-point method for solving $P_*(kappa)$-linear complementarity problems. The proposed algorithm searches the optimizers along an ellipse that is an approximation of the central path. The algorithm generates a sequence of iterates in the wide neighborhood of central path introduced by Ai and Zhang. The algorithm does not de...
